Meet Our
Veterinarians
Dr. Diane
Grede
Growing up in West Allis, a
suburb of Milwaukee, Diane always knew she was going to be
a veterinarian. Since the age of 4, her only goal in life was to be
an “Animal Doctor”. Her goals never wavered while growing up. She
attended Carroll College and Michigan State University for
undergraduate bachelor degrees in Biology and Chemistry, followed by
post-graduate studies at the University of Wisconsin – Madison
School of Veterinary Medicine. She graduated with Honors with her
D.V.M. degree in 1992.
In her first five years in practice, Dr. Diane worked in Beaver Dam
doing large & small animal medicine, but decided to pursue small
animal medicine exclusively when she moved to Oshkosh in 1998. She
was the sole veterinarian when The Animal Hospital of Oshkosh opened
in 1998 and purchased the business outright from the previous owner
in 2001.
Under Dr. Diane's leadership, the Animal Hospital of Oshkosh has now
grown to include 4 veterinarians, 16 support staff, and a new
5000-sq ft facility which opened in February, 2006.
Dr. Diane's veterinary interests include an interest in
endocrinology which is the study of glands and hormones that
influence or regulate other organs in the body. Her particular
interest in this area is the study and treatment of diabetes
mellitus. She also has strong interests in surgery and exotic
animal medicine, including treatment of reptiles and rabbits.
“I
will do my absolute best to make you and your pet welcome and
comfortable. I will spend the necessary time with you to listen,
understand and correct any veterinary concerns you have about your
pet. I believe in clear communication and working together with you
to make informed decisions regarding your pet’s health care. I
strive to provide the highest quality veterinary care with a
relaxed, personal touch.”
In Dr. Diane’s spare time she enjoys working on her country home,
outdoor activities, such as biking or hiking, and scuba diving. She
lives near Oshkosh with her husband Brad and their 2 dogs (Hazel and Auggie) and 3 cats (Emma, Stella and Sheena).
